Getting the Most from Your Website with Ostendo

Glen Corbett explains how getting Ostendo data into a high-performance web store solution is where Kook can help drive your sales to a whole new level.

Ostendo Operations (ERP) is the backbone of the way you manage your products, your customers, your invoicing and more. Linking your Ostendo Operations (ERP) with our web store solution can help increase your sales and improve your customer service as well as improving the efficiency of your sales process.

Kook has always been a web company that makes its websites all about sales conversion. We don't care what technology is used, as long as it's the best. After all, "innovation" does not come from the platform you use, it's the way you use it that drives your success. There is no such thing as having an "off-the-shelf" website solution that's easily set up overnight and works 100% the way it needs to.

Every business is different, every Ostendo Operations (ERP) system is used in different ways, your business has different systems and processes that make you a success and you need to ensure those competitive advantages are carried onto the web.

After all, the web is now such a huge percentage of your sales (or at least it should be!). Fine-tuning that sales performance from a 1% conversion of traffic to sales to 1.2% is a 20% increase in your sales turnover. What kind of investment would you be willing to make to increase your sales 20%?

Kook is constantly evolving the way it approaches every Ostendo Operations (ERP) website build. We are based in Mooloolaba, Australia, but that doesn’t stop us getting websites for Ostendo Operations (ERP) up and running for clients around the world. We understand it's a little hard to get your head around, but the difference in our methodology is the difference between those numbers (and even better).

If a 'Buy Now' button needs to be placed differently on your website, we do it. If mobile needs to be differently styled for a better user experience (which it ALWAYS does), we do it. You cannot get this from an "off-the-shelf" website. Those sites get you to market quicker, but they are always going to be limited in their outcomes. If you can dream it, we can programme it.

To ensure you have left no stone unturned, you need to know you have the very best website, and the very best web team to analyse what the stats are telling you, advise you how to improve it, and - most importantly - be able to make customisations required to achieve improvement.

Take a very basic example: Client A sells homewares, Client B sells tractor parts. Do you think the product page should have the same layout, the same "tone of voice"? Of course not. Why not? Because the customers have different demographics and they are buying for different emotional reasons. Being able to tweak that design could be a 20% difference in sales conversion there alone. An off-the-shelf system that you can do little more than change the colours to match your brand simply is not going to ever perform to its full potential.

Are you getting wowed by features that aren't nearly as important as getting the customisations done that you require to streamline your customer's online experience and cut your admin processing costs? What point is a "product comparison" tool if your freight pricing calculations is always either wrong or creates a headache for your admin staff.

Less is more: Every single element you have in your layout that isn't definitively improving sales conversion should be removed. Did you know that having a Coupon Code system on your checkout page - especially when you don't have an active coupon - reduces your sales conversion rate? That's right, people see the box and go off and Google "XYZ business name coupon code". Not only have you distracted them right when they were about to pay, what happens if they find a coupon from one of your competitors while they are hunting around? Oops.
